We are pleased to share with you that our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Saturday 6 December, 9.00am at the Trafalgar Centre, Paru Paru Road, Nelson.
Our AGM is an opportunity to share with you our work over the last year, as well as our work programme for next year. In addition to meeting a-tinana, we’ll also have a password protected livestream link available for those who can’t attend in person.

Whānau Open Day - Wakatū House
We will have a Whānau Open Day at Wakatū House on Friday 5 December, 8.30am – 11.30am. During the Open Day you’ll be able to tour Wakatū House, purchase our products and merchandise and share kōrero. Wakatū directors, Te Tāhuhu and kaimahi will be on hand to meet and talk with you informally during this time.
Voting for the Special Resolution
This year, there are four ways to vote for this year’s Special Resolution – online, by post, in-person or by proxy. Voting packs will be supplied by electionz.com and more information is provided in that pack.

Special Resolution & Financial Performance
Ahead of this year’s Annual General Meeting, we’ll be hosting two webinars to provide further insight into the special resolution being presented and to share an overview of our financial performance for the past year.

Special Resolution Voting
This year, shareholders will be able to vote for the special resolution in one of the following ways: in person, by proxy, online and by post.
Voting online and by post for special resolutions became available this year following the passing of a special resolution at the 2024 AGM.
To ensure our voting process is fair, transparent and secure, the end-to-end delivery of our special resolution vote will be managed by election management services company electionz.com
Registration at the AGM for shareholders
On the day of the AGM, all shareholders will need to register their attendance with Te Tāhuhu - our Owner liaison team. Registration for the AGM is easier if you bring your shareholder number with you.
Everyone who brings their shareholder number with them will go into the draw to win one of two mystery prizes, drawn on the day of the AGM.

AGM Livestream
If you are unable to attend in person, there will be a livestream available for Owners and whānau to watch. The livestream will begin at 9.00am on Saturday 6 December 2025 and will be password protected so that only Wakatū shareholders and whānau can access it.
If you cannot attend the AGM in-person and would like to access the livestream link, you can register by emailing info@wakatu.org, clicking the button below or calling (03) 546 8648.
Please note: you will need a shareholder number to register for the livestream.
Once you have registered for the livestream you will be sent a confirmation with the link details.
Registrations for the livestream must be completed by 9.00am Thursday 4 December 2025.
Wakatū House Open Day
Friday 5 December 2025
8.30am - 11.30am
As mentioned, this year we will be hosting an open day at Wakatū House where you will have the opportunity to tour the building and kōrero with the Board, Te Tāhuhu, and our kaimahi.
Walking tour
At the conclusion of the Open Day at approx 11.30am, subject to weather and whānau interest, there will be an opportunity to join a walking tour to visit some of our commercial properties in the Nelson CBD, lead by Iain Sheves, General Manager - Whenua. To participate in the walking tour you must be able to comfortably walk for approximately 2km. Please register your interest to join the tour by emailing info@wakatu.org
Kono Store
Our Kono store will also be operating from Wakatū House during our Open Day. There will be wine at special pricing, and a selection of merchandise available. You can pop into the office throughout the morning where you can purchase with cash or eftpos.
