Whenua (land) is the foundation of Wakatū and is where 70% of our assets are held. As one of the largest land owners in Te Tauihu (the top of the South Island), we manage a diverse portfolio from vineyards, orchards and grazing land to residential properties, large retail developments and commercial buildings.

Whenua

Our purpose is to preserve and enhance our taonga (treasure) for the benefit of current and future generations. We will achieve this through the sustainable use and development of our land and resources and by creating a community that our people are proud of. Our Whenua businesses protect and enhance the whenua held by Wakatū, and generate a strong financial return to increase the capital value of the owners’ assets.
