Tēnā koutou katoa,

Ngā mihi o te wā ki a tātou katoa.

Due to the recent community spread of the Omicron Covid-19 virus, the Board of Wakatū Incorporation has decided to postpone the Special General Meeting (SGM) which was due to be held on Saturday 26 March at Te Papa in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Our planned Te Hunga Panuku programme for that weekend has also been postponed.

It’s our priority to keep our whānau and kaimahi safe, and we made this decision based on the recent data modelling which indicates the potential for a much higher number of cases in the community during Hui-Tanguru and Poutū-te-rangi.

Being able to gather kanohi ki te kanohi is important to us, and we’re hoping to host the SGM in Pipiri (Covid-19 dependent) but we will confirm through our e-pānui, website and social media channels in the near future.

We know that this is an unsettling and challenging time for everyone, so we send our aroha to you all and by working together we will continue to stay strong and support each other.

If you are based in Te Tauihu, keep an eye on the website and Facebook page of Te Kotahi o Te Tauihu to find out about vaccination clinics, testing, planning for self-isolation, and how to get support.

Kia manawanui,

Paul Morgan
