The people and behaviours of Wakatū distinguish us, with talented people enhancing the legacy responsibly through collaboration, determination and integrity.

Wakatū has over 4,000 owners who descend from four iwi, Ngāti Koata, Ngāti Rārua, Ngāti Tama, and Te Ātiawa.

Over three years, our owners developed our 500-year intergenerational plan, Te Pae Tawhiti. This 500-year plan establishes the guiding vision for our organisation and people for the future.

The key principles of Te Pae Tawhiti are embedded across Wakatū Group and include:

  • Enhanced wellbeing for our owners: we provide diverse and tangible benefits to our owners – building social, cultural and economic value in our community.

  • Connected owners: our owners are connected to the Wakatū legacy, their taonga and tikanga.

  • He Taonga Tuku Iho: we will preserve our taonga and legacy for future generations.
