Our Mārahau whenua legacy dates back centuries to when our ancestors arrived in Te Tauihu during a series of epic migrations.

Wakatū is the guardian of this legacy, and we have created this exclusive opportunity for our families to connect to the whenua in a direct and appropriate way.

Deepening our understanding of our customary landscape informs our identity and our responsibilities to our legacy. Mārahau is for us. Experience it, enjoy it, protect it.

Read more about Mārahau in issue 2 of Koekoeā magazine.

LaToya and Michael Piggot are our kaitiaki at Mārahau.

Haumoana

The Haumoana bach is located on a spectacular private beachfront in beautiful Mārahau, the southern gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park.

The bach is well suited for whānau get-togethers and good old-fashioned beach holiday fun for all ages.

Only shareholders of Wakatū Incorporation can book this property – it is not available to the general public.

Bookings for Haumoana are made through the HolidayNelson website. You will need to provide a Wakatū shareholder number when booking. Haumoana is a separate booking from camping at Mārahau.
