Wine Logo

The green fern fronds on the left of the KONO wine logo symbolise growth. The inner frond represents Rongo – the deity of cultivation. The middle frond represents Papa our earth mother, and the outer, Rangi the sky father embracing our earth and vineyards. Together, they result in healthy abundant growth.

The right portion of the logo represents the fertile soils of our land streaked with rays of light. This is a sign that Rongo is present and that he is nurturing our vineyards.

The rich red used in the lower part of the logo is the sacred colour of mother earth. The 6 red triangles are niho taniwha – teeth of the guardian spirit.
