Each year we hold targeted wānanga designed to invest in the personal development of our young people.  These are focused on self-motivation, outdoor recreation, traditional values and identity. 

Activities are marae-based and include going into the Abel Tasman National Park. We will cover things such as:

• Te Reo Māori
• waiata
• traditional food
• tribal history
• environmental responsibility
• goal setting
• career pathways
• an overview of Wakatū and its associated businesses.

Applications for the 2012 Wānanga Taitamawāhine are now open to girls 10-16 years old who attend school, closing on 28 May 2012.
